The city of Glasgow has a lot to offer the world. From it's powerful local economy to its sites of historic and cultural interest, it was once the second city of the British Empire and continues to be a pioneer of design and industry. For visitors to the third largest city in the United Kingdom, there is both plenty to do and one ideal way to do it – coach hire.

Although it is often overlooked in favour of public transport, a coach has significant advantages over any other vehicle available for those visiting any city, but particularly Glasgow. Coach hire, unlike its public service alternatives, can be arranged to travel to your timetable. A vehicle can be hired to carry you and as large a group as you can muster to the destinations you choose in the order you want and at the time which is convenient for you. By comparison, public transport is required to serve the needs of the many and, being the fifth most populous city in the country, there are a great many people to serve in Glasgow.

A coach is also considerably more comfortable than most public transport. This is especially poignant if you plan to travel out of the city and enjoy some of Scotland's truly remarkable landscape. Public transport is designed to carry a lot of people, but a coach is designed to carry a lot of people in comfort. It is also useful for tourists coming into Glasgow International Airport that most coaches have a spacious cargo hold for luggage, keeping it safe, secure and out of the way.

One of the most useful design features of a coach, from a tourist's perspective, is the height of the seating. Elevated over the cargo hold, it gives passengers a view out of the very large windows, over the surrounding traffic, of the city you are passing through. In Glasgow, there is certainly plenty to see. The 15th century Provand's Lordship and the 13th century St Mungo's Cathedral are amongst the oldest structures, while the newest include the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, the Glasgow Science Centre and the Clyde Auditorium, whose Sydney Opera House-esque design earned it the affectionate nickname “the Armadillo”.

Coach hire is not only for tourists. Vehicles can be arrange to attend business meetings and conferences – particularly at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre – weddings, matches at the home ground of the Glasgow Rangers Football Club, getting to and from the airport and any purpose for which you need to move a lot of people from point A to point B in comfort and style.
